Strawberry Banana Smoothie Benefits -

Antioxidants –

Strawberries are chock-full of cancer-preventing antioxidants. Antioxidants naturally combat radicalized cells and actively help prevent the spread of the compounding effects of free radicals.

Fiber –

Strawberries assist in overall gut health by being an excellent source of dietary fiber. The daily consumption of vegetables and fruits like strawberries will keep you from feeling bloated due to fiber's positive impacts.

Bananas also bring to the table gastrointestinal and digestive benefits. Bananas are one of those fruits that contain both soluble and insoluble fiber. This fiber combination is fantastic for scraping the intestinal walls for routine maintenance.

Eating a banana every day will undoubtedly keep the doctor away by reducing the body's fatty substances that cling to the gastrointestinal tract's lining, leading to inflated cholesterol levels.

The fiber in a single medium-sized banana is enough to regulate your bowel movements; this can be wildly beneficial if you like gut health paired with a routine.

Vitamin C –

One cup of sliced strawberries will yield over 100mg of micro-nutrients in the form of Vitamin C. In times of pandemic, there is no shortage of the need for a robust immune system that is maintained daily with the routine consumption of Vitamin C.

Bananas also contain Vitamin C; a large banana will contain about twenty percent of your daily recommended vitamin C value. In general, vitamin C supports your body's protection features against tissue and cell damage and catalyzes iron and collagen production absorption.

Collagen Production –

The strawberry banana combination is a collagen-producing powerhouse. The manganese found in bananas is excellent for the skin and protects this skin against free radical damage.

Vitamin B6 –

Bananas are one of the leading fruits in terms of vitamin B6 concentration. A large banana contains about sixty percent of the recommended daily serving of B6, assuming a standard 2,000 calorie diet.

Vitamin B6 supports the production of red blood cells, a healthy nervous system, cleansing of chemicals surrounding the liver and kidneys, and metabolizing carbs and fats.

Anti-Inflammation –

Strawberries are flush with flavonoids, the anti-inflammatory compounds associated with plant-based diets. When it comes to brain health, blood flow is vital. A robust network of blood vessels is necessary for the mechanics behind a strong cognitive capability.

Natural Sugars –

At AGN Roots, we love natural sugar. We define "natural" as whole sugars in whole foods, surrounded by the natural minerals and fibers that come with it. Refined sugars come in powder form, and all surrounding nutrients are stripped away as part of the refining process.

Pregnancy Benefits of Strawberries?

Strawberries naturally contain folate. Folate, also known as vitamin B-9, is essential for healthy cell (red blood cells) formation and growth. Folate is critical for pregnant women at the early stages of fetal development, known to help reduce congenital disability risks associated with the spine and brain.

Potassium -

Potassium is abundant in bananas and is fantastic in supporting general health and stable blood pressure. This incredible smoothie contains more than 430 mg of potassium (banana size dependent).

An All-Natural Weight Loss Smoothie

The Classic strawberry banana smoothie helps promote weight loss in two ways.

  1. Satisfies the sweet tooth with a natural low-calorie sugar

Hi Donna,

Good catch! You are correct; we recommend avoiding mechanical agitation so the structure of the protein remains intact (air can force mechanical denaturing to occur). If you can control the blender’s speed to mimic stirring or mixing with a fork, we also support that. The video is a fun project however the literature is more reflective of our positions.

AGN Roots Grass-Fed Whey Team

Help me understand why you recommend stirring your product into the smoothie but your video recipe for Strawberry Banana Smoothie clearly shows it being blended?
